Las Vegas Raiders Remain Undefeated Against The Broncos With An Eye On The Future

Although they were not playing for a playoff spot, they certainly were not playing for their spot in the 2024 NFL draft (which will be 13th). The Las Vegas Raiders extended their winning streak over the Denver Broncos to eight and the Broncos have not beaten their Silver and Black rivals since the Raiders moved to Vegas.

Rookie quarterback Aidan O’Connell ended his up-and-down rookie season by throwing two touchdowns. Davante Adams added to his Hall of Fame resume with yet another season going over 1,000 yards. Max Crosby set a career-high with 14.5 sacks.

But as nice as those numbers were for the veterans of this team, and as nice as it is for Raider Nation to keep their bragging rights over their old AFL rival, there are lingering questions about what the 2024 Raiders will look like.

The first of those questions is the status of interim coach Antonio Pierce. The Raiders are 5-4 since he took over for Josh McDaniels. Despite the winning record under Pierce’s watch, the Raiders have been linked to Jim Harbaugh.

Tomorrow, the day after the regular season ends, is known as Black Monday. It is the day that is most common on the football calendar for being the day that teams fire their coaches and begin their search for their next leader.

Will Pierce have his name called? Or will Mark Davis retain Pierce after he put together a 5-4 record using assistant coaches leftover from the staff of Josh McDaniels?

Raider Nation, we don’t know what Black Monday will bring. But we do know that it is a Victory Monday and despite the turbulence that has been the 2023 season, the Raiders ended it the same way it began. With a win over the Denver Broncos.
